Produced by the Taiwanese company Wu Chung, specializing in Seitan processing. Its products are such good imitations that they are often referred to as "wheat meat".
This spicy product is a pre-cooked gluten-based food suitable for both vegetarians and vegans. It is made from wheat gluten (also known as seitan), which means it has a high protein content, with added oil, sugar, soy sauce, and salt. The artificial duck gains flavor by stewing the gluten in soy sauce and other spices, resulting in a distinct "pulled" texture. Canned mock duck is the most common way to purchase this product. Provided you do not have celiac disease or gluten intolerance, you can safely eat it.
