Located in the heart of the Pessac - Leognan appellation and dating back to 1365, Château Smith Haut Lafitte is one of the oldest estates in Bordeaux. This magnificent estate entered a new era in its history after being purchased by Daniel and Florence Cathiard in 1990. Château Smith Haut Lafitte is a Pessac Leognan wine that comes from a 78-hectare vineyard, consisting of vines with an average age of 40 years. The Château uses its own vine plants thanks to the mother vine preserved in the nursery on the Lalande island. It has a deep red color with inky reflections. The nose seduces with aromas of fresh black and red fruits with spicy notes in the background (anise), licorice, and pencil graphite accents. On the palate, elegant and balanced. Majestic on the palate – revealing the best features of the terroir. Serve with beef, hard aged cheeses, and game.
