Description
Sea buckthorn berries are a very rich source of vitamin C, which gives them anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, bactericidal, and blood vessel sealing properties. Although the amount of ascorbic acid is lower than in rose hips, unlike them, sea buckthorn berries do not lose their value even during long-term storage, whether fresh, dried, or frozen. This is because sea buckthorn does not contain a specific enzyme – ascorbinase, which breaks down vitamin C. Sea buckthorn oil also has significant medicinal properties, similar to vitamin F, as it contains unsaturated fatty acids. It has a beneficial effect on the skin, nourishing it and providing elasticity and resilience. The fruits of the plant also contain carotenoids and carotenoids, which in the human digestive tract are converted into vitamin A and tocopherols that exhibit similar effects to vitamin E. Thus, sea buckthorn protects the body from atrophic and degenerative changes as well as thrombotic and spasmodic changes, among others in blood vessels and skin.
