Ground ginger is a natural substitute for fresh ginger. It is very efficient and saves time. Ground ginger is often used where the fresh version would not be suitable, e.g., in dry spice blends. It works perfectly as an addition to oriental, Indian, and Thai dishes, soups and sauces (as a spice and thickener), grilled meats, seafood, and vegetables, as an ingredient in marinades or custom dry spice blends. Ground ginger is not recommended for raw consumption.
