Japanese craft gin with the soul of sake. The name Shukugawa is derived from the river located in the Nishinomiya region, close to the producer Nihon Sakari. The river is 4.1km long, hence the alcohol content of 41%. The most important special ingredients are: sake kasu (the paste left after pressing rice for sake) and sugi (Japanese cedar used for making sake barrels). Sakari Gin combines the taste of sake with the aromas of selected Japanese plants: Sansho (Japanese pepper), Shiso (perilla), Hinoki (Japanese cypress), Yuzu fruit, and Sakura flower petals. The only ingredients from outside the region are juniper berries.
